See when I woke up on the wrong side of the bed I said

And I ain’t saying that I know, but I know what I’m saying is
Pretty close to what I was trying to explain
And it’s my authentic name, how I often can make
A cryogenic freezer just to preserve the flame,
Save a spot up at the top, but I reserve the same

Cause this was a dream of mine since I was 8 or 9
When I awoke at 21 just to find that dreams
Came true in the booth whenever I rhyme
Unconscious on a track like I’m severing the mind
And that’s why, this was all I ever wanted
So I had to do it or the thought would leave me haunted (haunted)
Now it’s amazing, you feel the tracks that we’ve brung you

My picture ain’t much different when I paint
The image you feel the pain of anyone in the game
Who came before me trying to carve out a name
My pen, my pad, pencil and paper the same
But I was born Samuel until they saw my face
My mother said, “That’s a ‘Michael’” and I took my place
On this Earth, named after the tools I’d grace
It’s a curse and in case you try to reverse it don’t waste
Your magic on me, I taste too bitter homie,
And plus it’s in my bony body
Delivery is oddly similar to the godly beats you feel when you’re walking
